TV Stand Ideas?

Ok i want to buy a tv stand for my 50" plasma, but i am having a small problem finding the style i would like. The living room has a fireplace when facing the main wall (kitchen is behind the living room, to the left are two windows and to the right is a staircase). I would like to have the tv above the fireplace itself, so it can be seen and so am looking for a stand that will have two poles off to the side and then the tv is mounted or placed on top of the two. Ideas are aprecciated and i will put up a diagram of the fireplace in a minute.

you could just mount the tv above the firplace but it would put holes in teh walls if you are renting or dont want the holes b4 you move you can fill them with plaster and paint over them
Reply:Yeah wall mounting is not my favorite choice with marble.....





But the reality is that's a custom design and you would have to build it...so I can only suggest a metal fabrication company....





However, let's see if you can REDECORATE......


Can you SPLIT the room into 2 Cozy sections? One for the fireplace, and the other for TV? Do you have a FULL wall exactly opposite or 90° from the fireplace perhaps?





I would use that wall for either a nice TV stand or a wall mounted TV set.....





And you could possibly get an L shaped sofa for the room or Two sofas for 180°setup....





I'd prefer to see that, rather than constructing a metal stand.....

how about near the windows in a cabinet that raises and lowers the unit? i saw one in costco a while back. it was nice.just a thought.
