TV high voltage, could i have been dead now?!!?

Well today i decided i will repair my 20 year old CRT Tv. It had a minor problem with the SCART port and required some resoldering. My father warned me that these kinda TVs are very very dangerous to manipulate with since the capacitors in them have thousands and thousands of volts stored in them. Well, i laughed at him thinking how could there be thousands of volts in TV if the maximum that the socket outputs is 230V. Well i opened up the TV and repaired without any problem. Now i decided to do a little research about CRT TVs to see if my father was right and i realised OMG he was! I read about the high voltage capacitors in TVs and everything. I am really shocked. Could i really be DEAD NOW?!!

TV high voltage, could i have been dead now?!!?
Dead....not likely....ruined your day...YES. If you had any kind of medical condition, you might run into some problems that way. Otherwise, you'd get a nice JOLT and some sore joints for an hour or two.
Reply:Unless you directly touched a high-capacity capacitor or the cable that connects to the side of the tube itself, it's unlikely you would have died.
Reply:No-you wouldn't be dead-unless you have a weak heart. You can get quite a jolt from these sets, but the current is very low. But it's not a pleasant experience.
Reply:Yes, very easy you could have.
