TV Is making squeeky noise!?

My TV is only about 5 months old. I moved about 2 months ago. Sense i moved my TV has been making a wierd squeeky noise from the back. It only happens with the TV has picture on it. This is really annoying because i play X-box live. When i plug the Video cord to the TV the sound starts. If i un-plug it the sound stops. If i keep the TV on the "VIdeo" Channel it does not squeek. So bassically. the squeek only happens when the TV has some kind of picture on it. HELP!!!!

Sounds like you have a coil or transformer vibrating in the horizontal output circuit.


If you are experienced in taking the set apart, you may touch the circuit board in the area of the horizontal output circuit USING AN INSULATED TOOL such as a 8 inch long plastic rod. Use the rod to press on various parts of the circuit board and listen to the sound. If it changes,work to the most sensitive place and you're close to the problem.


The yoke ( the coil around the neck of the picture tube) can also make a high pitched sound if the horizontal windings are lose in it.
Reply:ok, you need to take it back. mine has done that, too, but when I turn the power off and turn it back on it stops, usually, but I should've returned it. But try turning the power off. then turning it back on in about 2 minutes. hope it works, but my advice is: If ya can, return it. It's partially the reception and feedback through the speakers and just will happen.....
Reply:this happened to m ine too. but it stopped when i hit it or threw something at it. until maybe 5 minutes later when it came back. i always tried to find ways to fix it but i just got a new tv. i have been looking for answers on the internet the last few months but i couldnt find anything credible that would work on my tv.
