LCD TV Problem or Xbox 360?

I have a Philips 26in LCD tv. Well when I turn the tv to AV1 in order to play my xbox 360 I can here sound but the screen remains black. I have plugs for AV1, AV2, and AV3 , HDMI on the back of my tv, as well as the standard yellow, red, and white plugs on the side of my tv. I have even bought a new set of HD Universal plugs, and tried those as well on the tv but had no luck in getting it to work. I called microsoft and they couldnt help me to get it to work nor could the Philips phone support.

What could be the problem? I need some feedback, because this is really frustrating. I can watch cable tv with no problem. I dont get whats wrong. Plz give me as much feedback as possible.

I would wager that the video connection isn't working. You said you have the connections on the side, so I suggest plugging your cables into that spot then changing the correct input. That should do it. Otherwise, the next issue would be your cables.
Reply:It might be the Xbox, a hardware video thing

If you have more than one TV, try plugging the 360 into another TV to see if it is the problem. Then you will know if its your TV or 360.
Reply:Switch it from standard def to high def via the switch on the power cord
