TV stopped working after we messed with the inputs???

My fiance was trying to plug his WII into our TV. Our TV is set up with cable running straight into the TV, and the DVD plugged into the tv through those 3 colored things (red, yellow, white). He messed with the connection, and now the TV is gray and white, and the channels are messed up with lines going across the screen. What did we do??? We restored the TV to it's default and reset it, and it still isn't working. Please help... it's my parents TV and my mom's fixing to blow a fuse!

TV stopped working after we messed with the inputs???
What channel does your cable come in on - usually 3 or 4. Make sure your TV is set to that channel. Make sure the INPUT on the TV is appropriate. Make sure the SINGLE cable

connection from the WALL goes to the "INPUT" on the cable box.

Make sure the single cable connector from the CABLE BOX to the TV originates at the OUT PUT

or TO TV connector and leads to the ANTENNA

INPUT connector at the TV. This connection is what may alter the TV input selection. DVD should have the three colored cables from 'OUT'

to the TV AUX-IN. This connection, too, is controlled with the INPUTselector on the TV.

Make sure all are turned on and make sure all the connections are tight.

You could call the cable company and I bet they would help. Good luck.
Reply:make sure everything is in the right spot. the cable goes into a metal spot that juts out and you have to screw it in, you should be able to tell where the colored ones go.

Next time he wants to plug in his wii he can just plug it into the vcr or dvd recorder, and it will work the same.
Reply:First....the CHANNELS

The lines are LIKELY caused by being on the wrong channel like 4 instead of 3......

IF you have a DISH NETWORK, the 2nd TV connected ACTUALLY uses the channels 60 to 75.....and that might be TV number two....LOOK at your DISH REMOTE and if the bottom of the remote you use has 2 on it.....then you have to go to ONE and bring up the number two TV's SETTINGS....

I'd contact DISH at this point......

But BACK to your other problem......

So....your DVD is Black and white too?? The ONLY logical reason it would be Black and White would be.....

Well there's NOTHING that would make the Video Black and White UNLESS......

BOTH the Wii and the DVD use the

%26lt;%26lt;5 wire COMPONENT CONNECTORS%26gt;%26gt;

And he mixed up the RED/White AUDIO connections with the RED/BLUE VIDEO CONNECTIONS......

When you're all scrunched back there behind the TV set it's easy to do THAT......

And since the ONLY connection is the GREEN one....You end up with a Black and White picture !!

The RED and BLUE create the Color with the 5 Wire component connections.....

AND....the Wii is component cabling......

So.....PULL out the TV if you can, to LOOK at the connections and actually make sure the cables are going to the proper colored input connectors on the Back of the TV set.....

Boy, makes you WISH you had connectors on the FRONT of the TV set for things like the Wii controllers doesn't it.....
