Hi...was robbed and glass fell into tv from broken window. ...then i picked up cable remote from other tv and when i clicked it to turn on, I heard a 'pop' and tv won't come on...so don't know if glass did something, or if using wrong remote or if something else completely...tv never used much and was working fine...any suggestions? i can do some minor repairs with tv...so hope to check out myself. (i know to watch out for tube)...tv makes hi pitched sound. turned off for several hours and replugged in with same hi pitch sound that drives u wild and no pix. TV is a few years old but used only for few months. thanx for ur time and ideas/help
TV broke! Could be simple?
It was DROPPED by the THUGS....
The high-pitched SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE you hear is the power supply is trying to run a SHORTED Horiz output....
It's likely when it was dropped, they broke the picture tube.
If you have insurance, take advantage of it....if not, have a TV Tech verify it's the picture tube.....
