HELP!?! pc to tv with appropriate cables no signal???

I hope someone can help me. I tried several ways as instructed through different website/forums/etc. Maybe theres something i am not doing right or wrong cables or maybe need a pc to tv convertor.





SPECS:


1.) toshiba satellite to Samsung 40" lcd 1080dpi


2.) pc- VGA port / tv - hdmi port


3.) cables - pc vga port - vga (male) to dvi adaptor, dvi to hdmi cable connected to tv


4.) attempted the following: pc display monitor - check extend to 2nd monitor, brought down resolution, send signal (Fn then F5 on mu pc - that's where my monitor icon is), restarted pc, tv monitor turn off and on.





with all the attempts mention above nothing happened, the tv monitor is black that says "weak or no signal".





i am ready to give up. this is my third attempt (been changing cables already with fry's electronics just to get the right cable).





do i need pc to tv convertor then instead of all this cable since i only have vga port in my pc???

Your cable sistem can't work. VGA - analog, HDMI - digital, you can't transfer from analog to digital without conversion. You need something like these http://www.nextag.com/vga-to-hdmi/search...
