Need help mounting flat tv on floating stand. Mounted according to instructions, dont understand how to secure

I built the stand up to the part where you put the tv on it.

Stand: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/ti...

My finger is where the brackets would go. My nail is where the screw would go: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/ti...

Back of tv: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/ti...

My finger is where the rectangular mounting frame would go: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/ti...

As you can see the bolt ends up attached to the air: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/ti...

This is the supposed safety bolt that "stops the tv from falling": http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/ti...

It consists of a screw through a plastic cylinder and doesn't even touch the tv (hand is where tv would go): http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/ti...

Does it look right? are the brackets just supposed to be put on the frame and not secured?

Yes it looks right. It appears that the tv brackets go over the stand frame. The safety bolt prevents the tv from sliding off of the side of the frame and the hole in the bottom of the bracket on the tv is meant for a longer screw that is inserted after the TV is hooked onto the TVstand frame. It is inserted to prevent the TV from lifting off of the frame. As long as the TV stand frame is solid and not floppy (can maintain the weight of the TV) you should be fine.
